2 euro commemorative coin – Your choice to donate Ukraine

This commemorative coin issued in 2023 with a mintage of 50,000 pieces is to donate Ukraine and is still available. This 2-euro coin, presented in a numismatic package, can be purchased at the Lietuvos bankas (Bank of Lithuania) cash offices in Vilnius and Kaunas and on its website.

10.00 euro from each sale of the 2 euro commemorative coin “Together with Ukraine” in a numismatic package will be donated to support Ukraine.

Total price is 14,52 euro, so 2,52 euro is for VAT (Value added tax).

The funds will be transferred to the account opened by the National Bank of Ukraine for humanitarian aid.

The center of the national side (obverse) of the coin features a stylised sunflower with petals resembling silhouettes of people holding hands, embracing and protecting each other, embodying unity, support and the power of being together. Using artistic means, the sunflower is designed as the rising Sun – the hope of a new beginning, and as birds – freedom, hope and courage, as people rising above the circumstances, never accepting any forced will, it is an allusion to those who have sacrificed their lives and their departing souls. The composition is surrounded by inscriptions LIETUVA (LITHUANIA), KARTU SU UKRAINA (TOGETHER WITH UKRAINE), the year of issue (2023) and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint. The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European Union flag.
