In the central square of Kamyanets-Podilsky stands an original statue – a monument to the tourist.

The statue near the city hall of Kamyanets-Podilsky is made of black iron by famous Kamyanets artists.

Unveiling ceremony of this monument was in April 2013, on the City Day.  It was on the eve of the opening of the tourist season.

“The real tourist travels all the time and, as a rule, on foot, so he has such a tedious look” – explains the creators of the monument.

The height of the statue is slightly more than 2 m, and the weight is about 80 kg. A man cast in metal, has a thin, sporty body and is clearly weary. Despite the fatigue, the tourist’s view is full of enthusiasm and inspiration. A large camera hangs around his neck, and a compact backpack behind his back.

The monument to the tourist is made of solid black iron, which guarantees it a long life and resistance to weather. By design over time the statue should change its color.

The sculptor – Sergey Klappetur. Metal artist – Sergey Klyshch.

The new monument is well integrated into the architectural composition of the city center on Town Hall Square.

All details of the monument – clothing, footwear, and headgear – are reproduced with great diligence, in order to correspond as much as possible with real subjects.

The monument to the tourist, like many other attractions of the world, has its own features and secrets. So, according to popular belief, anyone who touches a bunch of money hidden in his left pocket shorts will surely be rich.
